GLOBAL HEALTHCARE STRATEGY

News Digest May 2022

A curation of news stories impacting health insurance and brokers, population health management and health tech from last month.

There is not much IPMI news this month, although the familiar topic of whether a domestic plan covers you outside the home country has yet again arisen, as many in the US start to think properly about the topic of health during international travel.

Amongst service providers, we note how providers under pressure from inflation are pushing back against tough PMI contracts. Profit pressure has also led to Teladoc’s downgrade. Meanwhile the globalisation and consolidation of brokers in health insurance continues.

In the Insurtech area, we feature 2 interesting articles – on whether the Google’s etc can really thrive in this space and whether older gen insurers should look more to neobanks rather than insurtechs for faster digital progress.

As always, we hope you find this newsletter valuable, and would appreciate any comments or feedback.
